I'm sorry I haven't been dishing out much in the last few weeks; I have to complete my brag sheet and give it to my teachers for their recommendations. I'm applying to four University of California schools, three out-of-state private universities, and then one in Korea, SO I'm a bit busy with applicatons, etc. But I promise I'll update two or more by the end of this year (unless life gets ironic on me again). I love you all. Thanks for sticking with me thus far. :D

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MISSA! &hearts;

I'm sorry I couldn't give you my special EJ BIRTHDAY HUG, but I hope I can make you realize how much I appreciate your friendship. The last real conversation we were able to have, you were having some difficulties -- well, you don't deserve them. Like Ailey eloquently puts it, you're amazing for being so sweet and strong simultaneously. I haven't known you for a long time, we've never spoken over the phone, and we haven't been able to meet, BUT I firmly believe that you must be one of the greatest people I've ever met. And thus, I sincerely wish you a great, outstanding sweet sixteen. :)

Note of the story: I know you love fluff, BUT FOR SOME REASON, I couldn't summon it. I'm afraid I'm too freaked out about stuff right now to write properly, so if you don't like this one (WHICH YOU CAN SAY, ALTHOUGH I KNOW YOU PROBABLY NEVER WILL) give me time to write another one. <33

i. Summer

Her arm is dangling over the side of the bed, entangled in the white cotton sheets. They've left the window open -- it's the sticky kind of warm, and she can feel sweat liquefying the skin of her neck; even the breeze is thick and constant.

They don't own a fan to cool their one-room home. The humble abode is cracked and discolored and a beloved home to weeds, but it's small and has a cozy feature when optimism is present, so it's worth something to them. Far too long were their lives led at a large and inhumanly cold shelter at what seemed to be the edge of the world.

His hair has gathered into clumps that cling to his neck adoringly as sweat drops slowly form and pose to fall. His bangs are sprayed across his forehead and across the limp pillow -- the crimson of the scar peeks out beneath the gray. When she moves his hand from her waist to get up, his eyes blink and focus on her.

"We're going to need to get some cotton sheets."

A groan is emitted as his head falls back onto her chest.

"What happened to the ones we bought last time?"

A slow blush occupies her cheeks. "We … ruined them."

ii. Winter

There's a small hole in the ceiling; nothing to fuss about, but when it rains, it's annoying to have the plat of rainfall consistently calling for attention. The neighbor a few miles away could probably fix it, since he's a construction worker and all, but they are simultaneously too proud and too humble to ask him for help. So Lenalee copes with a pot on the floor while Allen's away at work.

At least, for the first few days.

When Allen comes home one day, she's on the roof, nails in her mouth and a hammer not too far from her hands. His initial reaction is surprise, and then amusement comes along. Then, lust.

He had no idea that his wife could look so deliciously attractive in a pair of his old work clothes with soot across the bridge of her nose. Although, now that he knows, the cracks around his home suddenly seem to be useful.

iii. Fall

Along with autumn comes wind. Despite the whistling noises their house makes, both of them love the fall for the multi-colored leaves and spontaneous dances in the grass. It's not too cold or too hot, so Lenalee's allowed to wear the knee-length skirts she loves and Allen can don the plain white t-shirts with worn jeans. Autumn is a time of catching up, memories, and crunchy leaves.

And to watch Lenalee rake those pesky little devils.

The wind seems to be Allen's ally when it comes to her task; she prefers skirts over pants even when doing a duty that requires her to bend over -- and frankly, Allen does not mind. He even pretends to give her hand in order to get a closer look.

Of course, Lenalee isn't clueless about this habit.

Like any attractive woman, she can feel his eyes on her. And that just tempts her to make more ridiculously provocative poses.

Hell hath no fury like a woman who knows her assets.

iv. Spring

Even if the house itself isn't presentable, the nature surrounding it makes up for its plain appearance; blooming flowers surround the building and their heavy perfumes drench all passer-bys with their natural scent.

The occupiers themselves are like flowers, regulars say. The girl, tall and lithe, is graceful and curvilinear like the white lily. The boy is more awkward, nothing like the sunflower but more like the rose, with the petals that curve in slightly before the edges tip out; a shy boy with reserve, but with obvious beauty all the same.

They've bloomed, people can tell, by the mature way they live. Although the rest of the human population will never know what they've had to go through, the end consequence has been fruitful, by the productive and appreciative way of life they live. Their blooming period is over -- then comes the soft decline, with many, many little buds in tow.
